PORTLAND, Ore– New documentary-style film chronicles the restaurant industry in Oregon during Covid-19. Greg Higgins Chef-Owner of Restaurant Higgins has teamed up with Brian Kimmel of Optic Nerve Productions to provide an accurate video history of the impacts on the restaurant community. The film titled “Unsavory Times” takes a look at farming and bringing products to the restaurant community. The film runs from late March 2020 through Thanksgiving weekend.

Restaurants must deal with all the changing protocols and regulations. Social unrest, riots and forest fires are taken into account. Greg Higgins says, “You can quantify it in different ways. It takes being stubborn and having patience to go through this stuff. “

The film premiered last night, followed by a panel discussion with another restaurant owner and the Oregon Restaurant Association.
