This Is Our Story

The name “Fifty Coins” belonged to a race horse owned by our family when we were children. She was born at Ward Acres Farm in Ridgefield, CT in 1970. Our mother bought her as a yearling from Jack Ward as a gift to our father on his 50th birthday. Her unusual name was inspired by her mother, “Tossed Coins”, and our father’s birthday.

Fifty Coins raced successfully and continuously until she was eight years old. It is with fond memories that we honor her by naming our restaurant Fifty Coins.
